Ravens' Ronnie Stanley Matches Franky Fund Donations

Tuesday, August 8th

Animals like Star are counting on you.

Baltimore Ravens superstar and BARCS adopter Ronnie Stanley has done it again! From now until Sunday, August 13, the Ravens tackle is matching donations to our Franky Fund, dollar-for-dollar up to $5,000. This fund covers costs for shelter pets with extraordinary medical needs.
Ronnie knows just how important it is to take care of homeless animals in our community. He and his girlfriend, Emily, have opened their home and given a second chance to not one, but two dogs from BARCS, Lola and Rico.
Ronnie adopted Lola in summer 2016, when the newly-drafted Ravens rookie visited BARCS. He was looking to adopt a dog that may not be as desirable to most people coming to the shelter. Ronnie chose Lola, an older dog with a history of neglect and abandonment. She is now a proud member of the Stanley family and the star of Ronnie’s Instagram. In May 2017, Ronnie modeled at BARCS and Show Your Soft Side's Pawject Runway fundraising event and fell in love again – this time adopting a pot-bellied puppy named Rico.
But even though Ronnie’s home is full, he is not done saving lives. Inspired by Star—our most recent Franky Fund recipient—Ronnie has pledged to save even more animals by raising money for the Franky Fund.
Star came into BARCS baring a huge, heavy, neglected tumor on her leg. She needed a complex surgery to not only save her leg, but to save her life. She needed a complex surgery to not only save her leg, but to save her life. Thanks to donations to the Franky Fund, Star was able to have her surgery this week. We are happy to report that Star (pictured above post surgery) was able to keep her leg, and is recovering in a foster home, resting and getting lots of TLC.
This year, BARCS has spent every last penny in our Franky Fund, but injured animals keep coming through our doors. We want to give each and every one a chance, but we can’t do it without you.
(When making your gift online, please select “Franky Fund” from the first drop-down box.)
To replenish our lifeline, please make a gift today to the BARCS Franky Fund, and Ronnie will match your gift dollar-for-dollar up to $5,000. To participate in the match, you can make your gift online donation or by mail (to 301 Stockholm St., Baltimore, MD 21230) by Sunday, August 13.

About BARCS’ Franky Fund: Named after Franky, a special puppy who was the first recipient of care through this fund, the Franky Fund provides outside emergency and specialized medical care to homeless animals in need. Animals requiring critical assessment and immediate lifesaving treatment are sent to partnering veterinary hospitals to evaluate and treat them at a lower cost to BARCS. In 2016, the Franky Fund cared for nearly 700 animals in need of emergency and specialized medical treatment. Donations to BARCS’ Franky Fund are spent 100% on medical care.
