Ciara

Ciara and her kittens came to BARCS as owner surrenders. They were all covered in fleas, scared, and in need of a warm place to stay. One of the staff members offered her office as a temporary home for this little family. After a few weeks at BARCS, Ciara and her kittens had adjusted very well.

However, one Friday morning, this very affectionate, loving kitty became very ill. She was vomiting, not eating, and growling in pain. The vet on staff examined Ciara and realized that Ciara needed immediate medical attention and BARCS was not equipped to provide that. Dr. Irvin Herling at Doc Side Veterinary Medical Center offered to examine Ciara at a low cost. After his examination he diagnosed Ciara with pyometria, which is an infection of the uterus requiring immediate surgery.

Dr. Herling offered to do the surgery at a substantial discount and in turn was able to save the life of this very sweet kitty. Ciara is now back to her normal sweet self and is awaiting her forever family to adopt her at BARCS!
